New IEEE CAS Chapter Established in Xi’an, China

A new CAS Chapter, the Xi’an Chapter, was founded in May 2010. The establishment of this new Chapter has been made possible with the help of Prof. Wenwu Zhu, Chair of the CAS Beijing Chapter. The new Xi’an Chapter focuses on organizing technical, educational and scientific meetings and seminars, which are designed to provide professional activities to its members in the northwest region of China. The Chapter also aims to promoting new theories and ideas in the field of circuits and systems.

The founding Chair of the new Xi’an Chapter is Prof. Guangming Shi and Vice-Chair is Prof. Licheng Jiao , and the new Chapter now has 14 members. Recently, a seminar on the Design of High-Rate Processing Circuits for Images has been organized by the Chapter.
